Natural Gas Installation
Description
IPS provided project management services to oversee the design and construction of a new dedicated underground PG&E natural gas main service to an existing building for this semiconductor client.
IPS’s design team worked closely with PG&E and the Public Works department to finalize the gas line design and obtain approval from PG&E for gas drawings and the joint trench design. The joint trench design included job instructions, a material summary, and a scanning of site underground utilities. The construction included the installation of 500LF of a new 4” PG&E gas line, which consists of trenching, boring pipe runs, and sitework pavement improvements. Coordination was led by IPS to ensure activities regarding tie-in work to PG&E’s existing main, gas meter installation, and gas pipe purge achieved project milestones.
The client tapped IPS for its expertise with PG&E, Public Works, and the design of site underground utilities in this complex project. IPS coordinated activities with many disciplines including environmental, civil, structural, geotechnical, traffic, and local agencies. IPS effectively acted as a one-stop shop to ensure the project’s timely and successful completion.
