IPS provided project management services to oversee the design and construction of a QA laboratory server rack installation. IPS set out to install facilities and IT infrastructure to support 20 new QA laboratory server racks. IPS carefully coordinated construction with the client’s vendors to ensure the project carried on schedule. All construction occurred while the lab remained occupied, however day-to-day operations were not impacted, to the satisfaction of the client.

The project was built at 10 weeks using a fast-tracked design that heavily made use of the design-build approach for MEP systems. These systems include a system balance, the installation of new booster pumps for a new chilled water system, and an air distribution modification for the test lab to accommodate new equipment. Despite the fast-tracked schedule, IPS was able to work with the design team and the client to provide several value engineering solutions that reduced material and labor costs overall. The building now holds a refined lab space that leverages the existing space’s infrastructure to minimize cost and achieve the client’s vision for a flexible and accommodating lab.
