Lab Utility Improvement

Description

The client required IPS’s design-build services to create new electrical infrastructure and a mechanical air handling system for an existing 7,000 sf laboratory in South San Francisco, CA. Among the services IPS provided were mechanical, electrical, and plumbing design services. In addition, IPS managed plan checks and permits with the local jurisdiction, effectively acting as a one-stop shop for this project.

Construction services included the installation of two new HVAC systems, a lab clean dry air (CDA) system, and a new 80kW emergency generator with power distribution panels to support backup power needs for the specialized lab equipment.

IPS coordinated mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) trades above the ceiling, and worked through conflicts and unforeseen conditions all while maintaining schedule.
